TRIANTAFILLOU

Swirl Swirl
Aerial acrobatics & strengthening workshop

2nd Weekend (13-14/7) – 2 hours/day
17:00-19:00 & 19:15-21:15, DANCE CENTRE CLASS 1

Swirl Swirl
Aerial acrobatics & strengthening workshop

The workshop is divided into four parts. The first part consists of a guided warm up of all joints and the muscular system that prepares and invigorates the body.
The second part focuses on strength through kinesiology exercises on the floor (small compositions), where we will try to focus on the pace of our breathing and on controlling our mind so as to discover and increase our endurance. We are thus called to seek the limits of our body.
In the third part, having acquired some kinesiology patterns, we will work on aerial acrobatics techniques. Our main concern is to fully trust not only the aerial equipment as a means of moving, but also ourselves.
With the help of the aerial silks hanging in the room, we will find ways to climb, balance, hang on different levels, rotate or just swing, and also get our adrenaline flowing by executing drops in the air.
The workshop will be completed with the fourth and final part of recovery, where we will try to get deeper into our body, almost reach our bones, and let it breathe.
The ultimate purpose of this course is….
to establish harmony of movement in the air as well as on the ground, by playing and exploring the speed, rhythm and the surrounding external factors.

Kerasia Triantafillou

Kerasia Triantafillou was born in Volos Greece on 05/12/1986; she studied to become an accountant in Patra Greece. She got her degree but never really put too much energy into pursuing this particular career.
Since she was a little girl was a student in gymnastics and during her teen years, she joined the team of synchronized swimming.
While studying to become an accountant in the city of Patra she took intensive courses of Aerial skills Acrobatics making her realize this was her passion all along and that on this field was the career she always wanted to pursue. In order to achieve that, she decided to attend several certified seminars on the field of aerial Acrobatics.
More specifically in October 2012 attended the teacher training Aerial Yoga and Aerial skills, a very successful certified seminar that took place at studio “Ευ Ζην” in Thessaloniki Greece and the next year again in Thessaloniki came the second educational seminar at the studio “Anahata” with a more intense acrobatic element “Aerial flow Yoga”.
Going back to the city of Patra 2013 until 2016 Kerasia worked as an instructor in several studios both in Aerial Yoga and Aerial Acrobatics while continuing, of course, attending certified educational seminars all around Greece by very famous acrobats from all around the world such as:

  • 2014 – Rada Manussen (Alkmini Theater), Aerial Acrobatics.
  • 2014 – Emiliano Ron (Alkmini Theater), Aerial Rope Acrobatics.
  • 2015 – Sara Bebe Holmes, Paper Doll Militia (Dancevacuum), Aerial Acrobatics – Vertical Theater.
  • 2016 – Dave Mills (School of Aerial Acrobatics), Aerial Acrobatics.

Of course, the constant training and the evolving and enrichment of her Aerial skills both in Yoga and Acrobatics never stopped, there as many travels and a lot more seminar followed.
In September 2017 it was a one-way street to establish her own studio followed by her own crowd teaching Aerial Yoga and Aerial Acrobatics as well as combined lessons of both.
